BeigeCheck

About BeigeCheck

We built BeigeCheck after a decade of helping people at work sound like themselves.

BeigeCheck is a service from Ghostart Ltd, a UK software company with bases in London, Brighton and Haute-Savoie, France. It gives the AI tools a company already uses its approved knowledge and voice, and checks every draft before anyone sees it.

Two founders who’ve spent their careers where technology meets writing.

Andrew Seel, co-founder of BeigeCheck

Andrew Seel

Co-founder

Andrew has spent more than 25 years building digital businesses, platforms and programmes.

He started in the early days of online communities before going on to build digital and social media businesses working with brands including Sony, EMI, Virgin and Häagen-Dazs.

For more than a decade, his focus has been on helping organisations and their people turn what they know into credible content and greater visibility.

Nigel Jay Cooper

Co-founder

Nigel is a bestselling author, technologist and former Channel 4 writer and editor.

His career combines building technology with a writer’s understanding of language, ideas and what makes communication distinctive.

For more than a decade, he has worked with Andrew on social media, employee advocacy and how people build credible professional voices online. He leads BeigeCheck’s product development.

Before BeigeCheck, we helped some of the UK’s best-known organisations find their voice.

We founded Togethr, one of the UK’s first employee advocacy platforms. Through Togethr we worked with organisations including John Lewis & Partners, Waitrose, Post Office, Barclays, BT and Capgemini, helping their people turn what they know into writing they were happy to put their name to. They were Togethr’s clients, not BeigeCheck’s.

Then we built Ghostart, the original authentic writing platform, which has since grown into an AI visibility platform. BeigeCheck was born from Ghostart.

The lesson we carried into BeigeCheck is that the best material is usually inside the company already. AI can help find it, shape it and get it out, but it can’t invent the experience behind it.

The cover of The Beige Code by Andrew Seel and Nigel Jay Cooper

We wrote the book on why company writing turns beige.

The Beige Code followed our first Beyond the Beige summit, which brought together people from neuroscience, marketing, trust, leadership, employee advocacy and technology. It looks at why capable people and organisations so often produce writing that’s polished and forgettable, and what it takes to stand out when everyone has AI. The Beige-ometer, the score inside BeigeCheck, grew out of it.
